Our Mission Statement:
The Governing Body will challenge and support the school so that its statutory responsibilities are met, its strengths are maximised, and its weaknesses are tackled decisively. In doing so, the Governing Body aims to ensure that each child at Stanley Road Primary School achieves to the best of their ability and is educated in a caring, safe, and secure environment. The Governing Body will take into account the impact of any decisions it makes on the wider school community and remain sensitive to the range of cultural differences in the school.
There are three core functions of a governing body:
1. Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
2. Holding the head teacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and the performance management of staff
3. Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent
To carry out these functions Stanley Road has a Governing Body of 9 members formed in accordance with a legal document known as the 'Instrument of Government' which is made by Worcestershire County Council.
Governors take specific interests in areas of provision and hold senior leaders to account for compliance, effectiveness and value for money.
No governors are currently serving as governors in other schools. 9.10.18
